Blogging with Stampsntea

October 27th, 2021

Well this has been a busy week, mostly because I had a slight cold and everything seemed to take longer than it should. I'm making Christmas Cards to keep busy and just noticed that a lady in Port Dover has a team of volunteers who are making up Christmas boxes to send to Canadian Peacekeepers. Last year they asked for donations of 'anything Christmas' and made up 82 boxes.  Am I up to making 82+ Christmas cards before November 8th? We'll see how many I managed to make in next weeks blog.

This past Sunday was Brain Cancer/Brain Tumour Awareness Day and sadly this has become a charity which has hit close to home for our family.  The Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada ran a project called Hats for Hope where you could purchase a lovely warm hat for about $30 CDN and the profits from sales go to brain tumour research and a whole bunch of other support programs they run to assist families affected by this awful illness. I'm happy to report that our family and friends purchased about 30 hats and/or made donations in support of this cause.

This weeks cardmaking project used the beautiful new Eden's Garden suite of products from Stampin' Up! The link to the video and the photo of the project are here.  https://youtu.be/FypelOjiBC8

As always, have a wonderful week and make some time for crafting.

October 20th

Hello Everyone! Lots of rain in Southern Ontario this week but the sun is shining beautifully today. Glad to say our little granddaughter is almost over her upset tummy. After sitting in the emergency department at the local hospital for over seven hours the doctor decided she had a viral infection and sent her home to drink lots of fluids to "flush it out".  I've started making my Christmas Cards to donate to a couple of the local senior's homes in the area. I'm always surprised how you can change the look/feel of a card just by changing the patterned paper and/or the sentiment. It's a great way to use up some of the card kits I buy throughout the year and some Paper Pumpkin kits. It's also a good time to have a clean out of old cardstock and papers that have been sitting unused for way too long. I'm hoping the schools will start accepting craft supplies again soon because I've got a whole shelf full of supplies to donate. 😉  For my YouTube video this week I showed how to make  quick and simple treat bags for Hallowe'en and then did the same gift bag using the Frosted Gingerbread suite and made a Christmas table favor bag.

Here's the link to the YouTube video https://youtu.be/dlbvu1taAdA and the photo is below.

They were so quick and fun to make I'm going to make a few more and fill them with candy for the neighborhood kids on Hallowe'en.
Thanks for reading my blog and as always, have a wonderful week and make some time for crafting.

October 13th 2021

Hello everyone! I'm hoping you all had a lovely Thanksgiving here in Canada. I know my family did.  It was so nice to have almost our whole family together. My blog this week is going to be a short one as I didn't do it up ahead of time and schedule it to post later. My thought was to get it done on Tuesday but we had a granddaughter with an upset tummy so she spent the the day with me and I got absolutely nothing done (but I did get lots of cuddles). 😉

This weeks card is a CASE (Copy And Share Everything) from my friend Jenn. https://youtu.be/ENa_Fsf6524 is the YouTube link and I've also posted a photo below.

It's another quick and simple card.  I used Thick Whisper White cardstock because the card is only one layer thick and I wanted it to still have some body to it. The stamp set I used is called Quiet Meadow. The watercolour wash in the background needs a light hand or you can shred the cardstock.
I'm going to call it a day now as I need a strong cup of tea and an early night.
Thanks for reading my blog and as always, have a wonderful week and make some time for crafting.

October 6, 2021

Hello Everyone and Happy Wednesday to you all.  As some of you know,  Saturday October 2nd was World Card Making Day and after almost two years I held my first In-House meeting(s). It was so lovely to see everyone. Just to keep everyone safe I had set up a schedule and everyone came at a different time and made a card. We observed the Covid-19 protocols and hopefully kept everyone safe. It certainly feels like we're approaching better times as far as meetings go. It's been a busy week for cardmaking, I've posted a photo of the cards I made below and here is the link to this weeks YouTube video  https://youtu.be/OOao2l36gQM

Fall seems to be in full swing now. It will be Canadian Thanksgiving on Monday October 11 and I know my Family has a lot to be Thankful for.

Thanks for reading my blog and as always, have a wonderful week and make some time for crafting.
